TASE Board Appoints Hani Shitrit Bach SVP Head of Economic Department

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) Board of Directors appointed Ms Hani Shitrit Bach to serve as Senior Vice President and the Head of Economic Department. Hani will replace Ronit Harel Ben-Ze'ev, who has served in this position since 1994 and was recently appointed to the CEO of the S&P Maalot rating agency.

Born in 1959, Shitrit Bach has a B.A. in Economics and Sociology and M.B.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She joined the TASE staff in 1986, after serving three years in the research unit of the Banking Supervision Department of the Bank of Israel.
 
Since 1994 Shitrit Bach has managed the listing Unit of the Economics Department. In this capacity, she was instrumental, in reforming TASE listing guidelines and shepherding key securities legislation, establishing the framework and infrastructure for handling ETNs and structured debt instruments and was responsible for dealing with the prospectuses of the major privatization offerings of government-owned companies. She also represented TASE in the commission established to examine and regulate the activity of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

TASE CEO, Ester Levanon, expressed her gratitude to Ronit Harel Ben-Ze'ev for her contribution to TASE in the years she held this position and wished her success in her future undertakings. Levanon also welcomed Hani Shitrit Bach on the occasion of her promotion, stating that “in the years working with Hani at TASE, I witnessed her tremendous capability first hand, as both a professional in her field and as a manager. There is no doubt in my mind that her talents, as well as her intimate knowledge of the primary market and TASE-listed companies will contribute immeasurably to enhancing the family of TASE-listed companies and to further developing Israel’s capital market. Levanon parted from Ronit Harel Ben-Ze'ev, who is ending more than twenty years at TASE by stating that “Ronit is credited with playing a pivotal role in the building and development of TASE over the years. Ronit served as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Economic Department since 1994 and was partner to TASE’s major undertakings, particularly those pertaining to the listing regime and relations with public companies. Ronit has earned immense admiration and renown in capital market circles. We are delighted to learn of her promotion and are certain she will succeed in her new position.”
