Press Release
28/06/2017

Former mayor of New York, Rudolph (Rudy) Giuliani is currently Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Cyber Security, Privacy and Crisis Management Practice. Greenberg Traurig is the only major international law firm with an office in Israel, headed by Adv. Gary Epstein, Managing Shareholder of the Tel Aviv office.
Giuliani opened today (6/28/2017) for the first time the trading day on Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Following the Opening Bell Ceremony, Mayor Giuliani held a meeting with a group of young entrepreneurs participating in the Tel Aviv International Salon. Giuliani was given the honor of serving as the Salon's 100th speaker.

Rudolph W. Giuliani said at the Opening Bell Ceremony: "It's a great privilege to be here.  The excitement is terrific.  It is wonderful to see how many young people are here.  It gives me great hope for Israel's future and its future as a free market economy.  One of the main reasons I joined Greenberg Traurig is because of its Israeli office.  We are the only international law firm that acknowledges a Tel Aviv office and we represent you.  We really value our Tel Aviv office tremendously because, for me, particularly doing cyber security and mostly reading the newspapers today with all of the attacks yesterday, this is a place of innovation.  This is a place where I come to learn. I come here and I always bring back to the United States with me cyber defense solutions, and sometimes I even have the honor of presenting them to President Trump.  Therefore, you are one of the great leaders, along with Silicon Valley, Austin, Texas, and a few other places where cyber innovation is truly taking place, among other things.  So congratulations on this wonderful stock exchange.  Congratulations on the growth of this country.  When we see so many young people here, we realize what a future Israel has, which is going to be even greater than its past."

Ittai Ben-Zeev, TASE CEO: "We've had bell openings in the past, but we have never seen anything like this.  Seeing so many people, not only one floor is amazing, and it just shows how people feel and respect Mr. Giuliani.  Everybody knows about the legendary mayor of New York City.  As for me, the first time I visited Midtown Manhattan was in 1991 walking on 42nd Street and other areas, trying to get to Madison Square Garden, and a few years later when I again visited Manhattan, I could not believe it was the same city.  What mayor Giuliani did is outstanding.  He brought together all of the character and quality as a manager in every position that he had held, whether it's the business side, political, municipality, putting strategy, devotion, dedication and execution, altogether, which is extremely unique.  I guess that this is one of the reasons why so many people, all over the world, admire you so much.
