Trading during the first week of November ended with declines in most leading TASE indices.

 

 

                                      

TA-25

The TA-25 index was off 0.7% over the week, bringing year-to-date returns to 11.6%.

 

TA-100

The TA-100 index lost 1.0% over the week, bringing year-to-date returns to 9.6%.

 

 

Government Bonds

The Government of Israel floated US $400 million bonds on the local market this past week, bringing the year-to-date total of government bond issues to US $18.8 billion, as opposed to US $18 billion for the entire 2011 year.

 

 

Foreign Investors

Figures released by the Bank of Israel indicate that foreign residents purchased a net US $60 million  of TASE-listed shares in September and a total of   US $ 0.7 billion since the beginning of 2012.

 

In addition, they invested a net US $110 million in Israel government bonds in September, following net sales of U.S. $1.2 billion since the beginning of the year.
