This website has been made accessible through the use of User1st's accessibility software. This document will explain how to best utilize the accessibility capabilities of this website for all individuals, regardless of disability or impairment.

Accessibility Compatibility

User1st is a web accessibility company. Its overlay software solution does not require any integration from our site's visitors, and has been tested with numerous web browsers and assistive devices. Compatible latest versions of web browsers include Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Compatible screen readers, latest version include NVDA, JAWS 16 & 17, ChromeVox, VOICEOVER, and TALKBACK.

Using the Accessibility Functions

The following are instructions on how to use the accessibility features on this site provided by User1st. User1st is able to personalize the functionality of this site based on the needs of each end user through the use of different accessibility profiles. Accessibility profiles combine particular accessibility features to address a particular need, such as motor disability and visual impairment to varying degrees. Once a profile is selected, the page automatically refreshes with the necessary accommodations in place.

Users are free to select from the predefined list of profiles found on the Accessibility Menu, or they can build their own profile through the “Define your Settings" option.

Pre-defined profile include: Screen Reader, Keyboard Navigation, Color Contrast, Monochromatic Colors, Text Color Contrast, and Block Blinking.

Accessibility Menu

On the top right corner of our website there is a clickable icon that states “Accessibility." If you click the button, a drop-down menu will appear with a list or available accessibility profiles. In addition to the profile, the Accessibility Menu gives you access to other options, including “Define your Settings," Feedback," “Accessibility Statement," and “Turn off Accessibility."

Screen Reader profile

User1s'ts software system can detect whether a site visitor is using a screen reader. If they are, User1st will allow them to activate the Screen Reader profile without accessing the Accessibility Menu.

  1. By following the screen reader instructions and pressing 'ALT+1' if you are using a keyboard or a desktop browser. If you are using a mobile device, double tap to select the screen reader.
  2. Based on the integration of User1st, after activating the screen reader profile or feature, the page will have added shortcuts to help you navigate across the page, added capabilities to give you more control over the website, additional information, and added notifications for dynamic elements, floating windows, and alerts.
  3. When the page starts to load, follow the instructions and wait until it alerts you that the accessibility has loaded.
  4. You may also use keyboard shortcuts (see Keyboard Shortcuts below).
  5. You may also select from the accessibility menu setting list more than a single profile. To do so, you will need to open the accessibility menu, open the “Define your Settings" options, select the required feature, and select the “apply" button.

Keyboard Navigation profile

This profile in meant for individuals who do not, or cannot, navigate our website with the use of a mouse. This profile allows individuals to move through our website using on a keyboard or keyboard simulating device.

  1. Prior to the activation of the accessibility feature, while clicking the Tab key, you will come across the option to "skip to accessibility menu." Click the Enter key to activate it (you can read more about it over the keyboard shortcuts paragraph)
  2. As the accessibility menu appears, use the Tab key to navigate through the profiles, and select the "keyboard navigation" profile with the Enter key
  3. At the top of the page you may find shortcuts to various places on the website and page, use the TAB key to navigate through these shortcuts
  4. The skip links on the site's header can lead you to different sections on the page but also to the page map, which will contain links on the page, as well as site map, which will lead you to other links on this site
  5. Using the TAB key navigates you forward, while using the keys: SHIFT + TAB navigates you backward. The ENTER key allows you to enter the selected area you are focused on. Focusing on clickable elements and clicking the Enter key will activate them.
  6. Use the arrow keys for selecting from a section with multiple selections, and use the SPACE key for the selection from those options
  7. The software as the page loads, please wait until uploading ends, you will be alerted over page status changes
  8. One may use keyboard shortcuts - see Keyboard Shortcuts
  9. The system has been tested across multiple internet browsers, including the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome

Please note that there are floating tooltips that describe the nature of various components if the information was missing from the original site structure or is incomplete on the screen. In order to be able to operate those tooltips, navigate with the keyboard. In the case you are using a combination of keyboard and help features found at the Settings options, you can read more about it over “List of settings options" below.

Color Contrast, Monochromatic Colors, and Text Contrast profiles

These three profiles are meant to assist individuals who have visual impairments that are not as severe as those requiring the use of a screen readers. The “Color Contrast" profile changes or inverts color tones, the “Monochromatic Color" profile sharpens colors tones, and the Text Contrast" profile adds greater difference between the text color and the background. Each of these profiles can be found and selected from the Accessibility Menu.

Block Blinking profile

This profile stops all blinking, flashing, or moving features on the site. This profile can be found and selected from the Accessibility Menu

Define your Settings

This feature allows you to personalize an accessibility profile. If you click on the “Define your Settings" link in the Accessibility Menu, you will be provided a checkbox to select which accessibility features you would like. You can also change the size of the page's text from this location.

List of settings options:

  1. Increase of font size (100%, 130%, 160%), which would increase the font of the system's floating tooltips as well.
  2. Change of color settings to high contrast or monochromatic colors
  3. Adjustment code and content for a screen reader user
  4. Adjustment code and content for the keyboard only users
  5. Add with the ability to stop flashing elements
  6. Add the ability to stop moving components
  7. Add a help tooltip layer to those components that are not clear or complete.

  • 0 - Shortcut menu accessibility
  • 1 - Shortcut to the page centers
  • 3 - Shortcut to the map
  • 4 - Shortcut to the search area
  • S - Shortcut map page
  • Before activation: Alt+1 will adjust the page to a screen reader user
  • Before activation: Alt+2 will stop the screen reader alerts
  • First link: Skip to accessibility menu
  • Second link: Activate screen reader profile
  • Next links: may be one of the skip links: page navigation menu, site navigation menu, skip to search, skip to main section, skip to navigation section

Compliance level certification

Based on our audit recommendations, there are several tests any website will need to pass, in aim to achieve a substantial level of compliance. We are in the stage of testing our website all the time, while the type of test that can be done:

  1. Test level A: Automation auditing with automation tools
  2. Test level b: Activation of the website by using only the keyboard
  3. Test level C: Activation of the website by using only the keyboard and a single screen reader (due to its wide spread NVDA is recommended as the 1st level)
  4. Test level D: Activation of the website by using only the keyboard and a three screen readers (NVDA and JAWS for desktop browsers, and Voice over for the mobile version of the website).
  5. Test level E: Activation of the website by using only the keyboard and a five screen readers and keyboard combined (NVDA, JAWS and Voice over for desktop browsers, Voice over and Talkback for the mobile version of the website, while the last two with and without a Bluetooth keyboard).
