Economist for the Models and Derivatives Section, in the Risk Management Department

Job Description:

​Development and implementation of models and methodologies for estimating exposures to risks and/or minimization of such exposures; examining the quality and reliability of existing models and their actual outputs/results; performing complex calculations and analyses regarding projections and TASE group's models; performing additional tasks as required within the Models and Derivatives Section and/or the Risk Management Department.


The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange plays an important role in the growth and development of the Israeli economy and serves as a meeting point between Israeli companies operating in the market and the public. The TASE leads the Israeli capital market and contributes to the economy and society through advanced trading and clearing infrastructures.

The Risk Management Department, headed by the Chief Risk Officer, is in charge of the risk management framework in the TASE Group, including TASE's subsidiaries (TASE Clearing House, Maof Clearing House, etc.). 

The department's responsibilities include, among others, building and maintaining independent and ongoing supervision processes with respect to the quality of risk management in the TASE group, formulating and managing framework and governance in the TASE Group, assessment of possible ways of managing risk exposures, and developing the Group's risk management policies, processes and models/methodologies. 

The Department is also in charge of performing periodic risk self-assessment processes, formulating a corporate-wide risk management policy, risk appetite and exposure limits, and implementing risk management policies and risk management culture.

Required qualifications:

  1. Hold's a bachelor's and/or master's degree in economics / statistics / mathematics.
  2. Graduated magna / summa cum laude. – an advantage.
  3. High analytical capabilities and quantitative orientation.
  4. Fully proficient in office application including a very high degree of proficiency in Excel.
  5. Proficient in VBA and/or Python – an advantage.
  6. Familiarity with the capital market (including the derivatives market).
  7. Successfully completed the Israel Securities Authority's investment advisory / portfolio management exams– an advantage.
  8. Familiarity with statistical and/or financial risks management models (VaR)– an advantage.
  9. Able to write and express himself, in Hebrew and English, at high level.
  10. Able to analyze information and draw conclusions at high level.
  11. The ability to get down to details and meet schedules, being organized, precise, thorough and effective.
  12. Possesses a high work ethic, a willingness to work hard and an ability to work under pressure and multitasking.
  13. An ability to learn and work independently, as well as able to work within a team and maintain good interpersonal relations. 
  14. Good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
