TASE Board Approves Yoni Shemesh Appointment as Executive Vice President

At its 28 August 2010 meeting, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) Board of Directors approved the appointment of  Mr.Yoni Shemesh to the post of Executive Vice President.

 

Mr. Shemesh currently serves as Senior Vice President in charge of CIO, IT & Operations and as Acting TASE CEO. A 25-year veteran of the TASE, he served 15 years in an executive capacity as a senior vice president and a member of TASE’s top management.  He was appointed to his current post in 2006.

 

During his tenure at TASE, Shemesh was engaged in initiating and implementing critical programs which have had a tremendous impact on Israel’s capital market These include:  the establishment of automated trading system in shares, bonds and derivatives; design of automated clearing and settlement systems; creation of REPO trading; formation of the stock options market and the upgrade of TASE index methodology.

 

Mr. Shemesh is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from Tel Aviv University.

 

TASE CEO, Ester Levanon, welcomed Mr. Shemesh’s appointment to the Executive Vice President position, stating that his talent and experience will undoubtedly contribute substantially to the advancement of the capital market and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
