Opening Bell Ceremony marking the "Global Entrepreneurship Week"

Press Release
15/11/2015

This morning (15.11.15), the Global Entrepreneurship Network participated in the Opening Bell Ceremony, celebrating the opening of the "Global Entrepreneurship Week", held in 160 countries across the world.

Ayla Matalon, Chairwoman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Israel said: “Entrepreneurship Week was established as a project by students in the UK under the title Make Your Mark, with the objective of opening doors to a dream for young people to leave the traditional employment track for a life of self-fulfillment.  We have no shortage of entrepreneurship in Israel. Our activity is focused on encouraging entrepreneurship in the social periphery. When we organize "Entrepreneurship on Tap" in Tel Aviv, a man stands up in Dimona, a woman stands up in Nazareth, and they bring men and women entrepreneurs to "Entrepreneurship on Tap" to these locations, to hear and experience the entrepreneurship endeavor. This place, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, is a milestone in the lives of many entrepreneurs, a stepping stone, not an end – a new phase of growth. I hope that some of the entrepreneurs we have encouraged in Bnei Brak, in Elad, in Kafr Kassem, in Beit Jann, and in Rahat will come here with their companies and strengthen the domestic economy".

Hani Shitrit- Bach, Senior Vice President, Listing & Economics Department in the TASE said: “The TASE’s objective is to promote and expose small and mid-sized companies, including high-tech companies, while creating an infrastructure for them to raise capital through the stock market. High-tech entrepreneurs have already demonstrated that entrepreneurship is the power that allows social mobility and economic growth irrespective of origin or environment. I am very pleased to note the opening of "Global Entrepreneurship Week" on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, because there is no step that is more symbolic than this.”
